Dr. Michael Greenfield, Deputy Associate Administrator of Safety and Mission Assurance, Code Q, gave a State-of-the-Agency and Office of Safety and Mission Assurance address. The address is based on the Zero Base Review outlined by NASA Administrator Goldin on May 19, 1995. Mr. Joe Siedlecki, Manager of NDE, Metrology and Calibration, Code QW, announced that the NNWG charter has been signed by Mr. Gregory, Associate Administrator of OSMA, Code Q. Dr. Greenfield and Mr Siedlecki also reviewed current (FY95) RTOP progress and activities.
Each field center presented recent/planned reorganizations associated with NDE and related activities. Dr. Chern, GSFC, Chairman of Technical Review Committee, chaired a review session of the top six FY96 Code Q NDE RTOP proposals. The working group also worked on the OSMA NDE strategic plan. Ms. Marie Havican, JSC, became NNWG Chair Emeritus. Dr. Yoseph Bar-Cohen, JPL, and Dr. George Baaklini, LeRC, assumed NNWG Chair and Vice-Chair. The next NNWG workshop is scheduled for January 1996.
