Several issues have arisen in the last year or two that directly impact hybrid microcircuit reliability. These issues will be studied and risk mitigation strategies defined for use by NASA flight projects. These issues include: a) Definitions of Reliability used in the context of hybrids for space, b) Treatment of Tantalum capacitors: derating and hand soldering/rework, c) DPA photo-documentation of hybrids to support new internal visual inspection requirements, d) PPE checklist for site visits: pre-production, element review, pre-cap visual, pre-ship review, e) Document process and boiler plate for radiation plan used by test organizations and QML vendors, f) COB assemblies as hybrids, g) Identify new test methods for DC/DC converter characterization
