These guidelines have been developed as a tool for doing trade-offs between geometry, materials and quantitatively evaluating the impact on reliability of BGA packages in harsh environments.  This work helps the reader understand the sensitivity of the component's reliability to geometry, package architecture, material properties and board attributes in order that the most appropriate components can be selected.
