Background
Thermofoil heaters for space flight use are procured using the requirements set forth in GSFC specification S-311-P-079.  This specification provides for an extremely durable heater.

Major Issues
Although there are several detail specifications for the S-311-P-079 procurement specification, unique requirements for each individual device will, most likely, require a Specification Control Drawing.   Heater manufacturers are willing to assist users in this endeavor.  It is best to contact the heater manufacturer to assist  with the design of individual heaters as soon as the requirements are known.
