4.  Contact Damage Due to Improper Mating

The contacts on this connector were damaged during the mating process. The contacts were not examined for straightness prior to insertion with the other connector. Excessive force was used in an attempt to achieve a proper insertion resulting in damage to the sockets.

2. Examine connectors for contamination, pin, and shell damage prior to mating. 4. Caution shall be applied to mating and demating operations to preclude damage to connectors.
