Simulation of Tin Whisker Growth

UPDATED VIDEO 11/05/02
The following movie was created using "MORPHER" software.  Actual photographs of tin whiskers growing on bright tin plated brass substrates (with a copper flash applied prior to tin plating) were photographed at various intervals of time by NASA GSFC using Scanning Electron Microscopy. The MORPHER software program was used to interpolate the growth changes in the whisker from the discrete photos thus producing a movie that "simulates" the growth of the whisker.

To view the movie you will need software capable of playing MPG file format. RealPlayerTM is one program that is capable of viewing this file format
